Brief Description

Superstar Volunteer Outreach Assistant to prisoners and their families (Georgia)

Mattie worked thirty years as administrative assistant, in the public school system.  Among many things, she spent years as a PTA leader and trainer. Mattie, first introduced to Prison Ministry at  Kingdom Come Interdenominational Church, grew more interest as she became aware of  incidents in her own family and mistreatment of prisoners and their families.  She visits many prisons and maintains contact with their families to support, encourage and share information with them. Her first summer job was as a recreation aid at a park where inmates were on work detail and remembred not being afraid to be photographed with one of them.  As she witnessed her mother stand up for her father’s rights when he was falsely accused and imprisoned.. In the coming year she plans to implement a proposal written by her husband, Johnny  to minister to youth and children to keep them out of the prison system. He has been incarcerated for forty years.
